Rolfing® Structural Integration, Rolf Movement & Bodywork
Rolfing and Rolf Movement address issues related to chronic pain, improve the quality of posture, and bring the body back into balance and ease. This is done by addressing tightness and tension in the connective tissue (fascia) that surrounds our whole body. Rolfing is typically done in a series of ten separate sessions.

With over seven years experience in full-time practice, my bodywork combines all my training to bring you to the next level of functional and body awareness. My main clientele includes bodywork savvy people such as tri-athletes, dancers, yoga teachers, and also the business professional that is always on the go!

About Rolfing: FAQ
What is Rolfing? Rolfing is a hands-on manipulation developed by Ida P. Rolf… It works on the connective tissue to release, realign and balance the whole body. Rolfing enhances your posture and freedom of movement.

How is Rolfing different from Massage? Massage focuses on working the muscles. Rolfing requires very specialized knowledge that allows the Rolfer to work with the connective tissue, or fascia, which then realigns the entire body, allowing longer-term results. Also, no oil or lotion is used.

Is it painful? Rolfing has had a reputation for being painful but it has progressed from its early days of “no pain no gain! The client is always in control of the session.

How many sessions does it take?
Rolfing takes ten sessions (each session approx. 70 minutes long). Normally, they are spaced apart once a week or every other week. A client can only commit to three sessions at a time if they choose to.

What should I wear? Because the client will be getting on and off the table and walking around, it is recommended to wear sport shorts or boxer briefs. For women, a bra/sports bra is also required.

What is Rolf Movement? Rolf Movement is movement education that works with the brain and central nervous system. It is a great adjunct to Rolfing and is used when the client could benefit from functional movement in addition to Rolfing.
